Woman Who Lives in Jason Sudeikis’ Former New York Apartment Snags an Invite to the ‘Ted Lasso’ Premiere—So She Can Return His Mail

A devoted "Ted Lasso" fan who lives in Jason Sudeikis' former New York City apartment got the surprise of a lifetime after the Apple TV star invited her to the premiere of the hit series—so she could return piles of his mail that were still being sent to their shared address.

Content creator Taylor Palmby caught the attention of Sudeikis, 50, after she took to Instagram to share a personal message for him, while showing off the many envelopes and packages addressed to the actor that she has accumulated at her home.

"Hi my guy @jasonsudeikis I have some of your things!!" she wrote in the caption.

"This video is for Jason Sudeikis. If you're not Jason Sudeikis, you can keep scrolling," she then began her video, which has since garnered more than 700,000 views.

"Hi Jason! I love your work, I really do, also I am really excited for the next season of 'Ted Lasso,'" she went on, before adding: "I also keep getting your mail."

Palmby then held up an envelope with the actor's name on the front, explaining that she lives in his old apartment and has collected "a lot of" his mail since she moved in.

She went through some of the piece of mail she has received, which include a letter that appears to be from the Writers Guild of America "about elections."

"If you were asking, not that you were, I think that Brett Goldstein and also Harrison Ford deserve something for their role in 'Shrinking,'" she joked, before holding up a larger stack of padded envelopes and packages, which she noted feel "bigger, more substantial, and more important."

"I'd like to get them to you," she said. "I just, I don't know how. So maybe did stick around, maybe it could do its thing and tag you, and you could reach out to me? Or, this is creepier, but ... you know where I live?"

Shortly after she posted the clip, users began flooding it with comments, many of which tagged Sudeikis, urging him to reach out to Palmby to retrieve his mail. Others praised Palmby for not opening the actor's mail to see what was inside.

"I know it’s a federal crime, but I’m so impressed at your self control that you didn’t open them," one person wrote.

"I like to think he’s just gonna knock on the door or ring the buzzer and be like, 'Uh hi it’s Jason,'" another joked.

One person even urged Sudeikis to give Palmby a role in his show, writing: "She NEEDS to be featured in 'Ted Lasso' but all she does is, he opens a door as she was about to knock on it and hands him his mail.

"Doesn’t even need to be a speaking part! Just passes the mail and smiles, he says thank you and shuts the door."

Eventually, the video did reach Sudeikis and his team, who reached out to the content creator to offer her an invitation to the "Ted Lasso" Season 4 premiere.

"Jason was tagged in the post, and when he and his team saw it, they reached out to Taylor to invite her to the premiere," a source explains to Realtor.com®.

Palmby then shared several videos and images of herself on the red carpet at the event, still clutching the packages addressed to the actor, which she finally had the chance to return after the screening had taken place.

A clip shared on her Instagram shows Palmby approaching Sudeikis at an outdoor after party venue, introducing herself, before handing over his packages.

"That was amazing," she tells him. "I have something for you. Here's your mail."

Sudeikis then joked that he didn't recognize the logo for the Writers Guild of America when she held up the envelope, saying: "They must have changed it!" before telling Palmby that he had been sent her clip by "about 20 people."

Eventually, the video did reach Sudeikis and his team, who reached out to the content creator to offer her an invitation to the "Ted Lasso" Season 4 premiere. The actor also noted that his former apartment has gone through several renovations since he moved out, revealing to Palmby that he didn't actually recognize it when he first saw her video, because the exposed brick wall behind her used to be covered with plaster.

Palmby went on to express her admiration for Sudeikis and his show, telling him: "I'm a therapist and your show is incredible. What it does for people, especially teaching male vulnerability."

She then concluded their chat by promising: "If I keep getting your mail, I'll pass it along!"

While sharing her video of their interaction, Palmby thanked Sudeikis and his team at The Agency Group PR for making the meeting happen.

While it's unclear when Sudeikis lived in Palmby's apartment, he has since found a new property in Brooklyn, NY, a townhouse that he purchased for $6.5 million, when he was still in a relationship with his former partner, Olivia Wilde.
