US consumer sentiment fell in September to a four-month low amid worries about rising prices and the economy. Consumers expect prices to rise over the next year and saw costs rising at an annual rate over the next five to 10 years, the highest since May. “Despite political differences, consumers unanimously believe that the outlook for the economy has diminished,” says Joanne Hsu, director of the survey, who joined Bloomberg Intelligence to discuss.
