‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Alum Eva Marcille Faces $22K Lawsuit From Homeowners Association

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Eva Marcille is reportedly facing legal action from the homeowners association of her Alpharetta, GA, home.

According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the HOA is seeking past assessments and fines totaling more than $22,000 from the actress and model, claiming she has violated maintenance standards.

Allegedly, the violations include failure to address landscaping issues such as treating weeds and mowing the lawn, as well as the removal of “inoperable cars from the driveway” and trash cans from public view.

Marcille’s lawyer and reconciled ex-husband, Michael T. Sterling, made a statement to TMZ.

“Let me be absolutely clear: Eva Marcille is not going to lose her home over weeds in her lawn or a vehicle parked outside her residence. Period,” he told the outlet.

“I intend to fight this HOA at every turn to protect her property, defend her rights, and hold those responsible accountable,” Sterling continued. “No homeowners association should be allowed to weaponize fines, fees, and liens to intimidate homeowners, particularly over minor violations that should never escalate into a threat against someone’s home.”

Sterling also cited the Georgia Property Owners’ Bill of Rights Act, a landmark HOA reform passed in April of this year to create an administrative process to aid in the settlement of disputes between homeowners and HOAs.

“This legislation represents an important step toward greater transparency and accountability, and I intend to pursue every legal remedy available to ensure Eva’s rights are protected,” Sterling said.

“This is about more than one homeowner,” he explained. “It is about protecting the fundamental right to homeownership and ensuring that homeowners associations are not permitted to abuse their authority or use their power to harass and intimidate the very people they are supposed to serve.”

The “America’s Next Top Model” winner purchased the home for $780,000 in November 2019, and Realtor.com® estimates it’s currently valued at $1.35 million.

Marcille’s search for a home was a heavily featured storyline on Season 12 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” where she shared that a challenging past relationship with ex-boyfriend, Kevin McCall—with whom she shares eldest daughter, Marley Rae—had prompted her to move several times.

“Every time I move, he finds me,” Marcille said. “Because of that, I live in multiple places. Safety is a priority for me.”

Marcille married Sterling in October 2018, and just over a year later, purchased the Alpharetta home with a mortgage solely in her name.

Marcille and Sterling welcomed two sons together, Michael Todd Jr. and Maverick. In 2019, Sterling also legally adopted Marcille’s daughter.

The couple divorced in August 2023 but reunited in July 2025.

“Life’s a journey,” Marcille shared in a September 2025 Entertainment Tonight interview. “My intention when marrying him was to be with him forever. As we go through the ups and downs for life, no matter what it looks like, he is my forever. He is and always will be my forever.”

The mom of three has also referred to her five-bedroom, five-bathroom abode as her “forever” home.

In an April 2020 house tour with Bravo, Marcille shared a look at the 4,700-square-foot dwelling, which is positioned on a .3-acre lot.

The home features a two-story great room, which includes a large stone fireplace surrounded by built-in shelving and Marcille noted is the spot the family “spends the bulk” of their time.

Her “favorite place” is the sleek white kitchen, outfitted with smart appliances and ample counter space.

The dwelling is primarily decorated in a gray and white color palette, leveraging affordable decor and bedding items once available in the now-defunct Eva Marcille Home Collection.

The family’s home is filled with a variety of lounge spaces, including a sunroom off of the kitchen with a stocked bar cart where the family enjoys cocktails. A sizable back deck offers another spot to relax, as does a corner of the primary bedroom that holds special significance for Sterling.

“This is the hangout space. When Mike’s over here, I say Mike went to his house,” Marcille explained. “If he’s over here, don’t mess with him. He wants to eat here, he watches his ball game.”
