“Privacy is one of the community’s defining characteristics,” Walters, Plaxen, and Tse explain. “Many residents choose Bradbury Estates because they value a quieter lifestyle away from public attention.”
While the neighborhood is only a 20-minute drive east of Los Angeles, guests won’t find flashy red-carpet events or high-end designer stores lining its streets. Instead, the quiet, tree-lined streets are bordered by high hedges and gates.
Organized since July 26, 1957, the city promotes itself as “a small, residential/equestrian-orientated community” that covers 1.9 square miles and includes 3.2 miles of public streets and roads.
The “contract city” borders Monrovia and Duarte and features a small full-time staff to provide services to the residents.
Much of the area is zoned for agriculture and keeps open plots in the foothills with 2-acre and 5-acre minimums.
As of June 2026, the median home listing price in Bradbury is $4.25 million and the area currently has 21 active listings, according to Realtor.com data.
