Kim Kardashian's Los Angeles mansion was targeted in a bizarre burglary attempt over the weekend that led to a man being arrested after allegedly taking a staff member's "car for a joyride."
Police officers arrived to the reality star's $60 million Hidden Hills home on the afternoon of Aug. 9, when they discovered that a suspect had forced his way through one of the doors of the property, which is currently under renovation.
The Skims founder, 45, and her children North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7, are not currently living in the residence, having moved out temporarily while the home is given an overhaul, as first reported by TMZ.
According to the outlet, a security guard spotted the suspect removing items from the TV personality's property and placing them inside a vehicle.
The alleged target also hopped in a car belonging to a staffer and and drove it around the neighborhood.

Police officers told the outlet that no one was inured and there were no weapons found on the suspect.
According to the outlet, Kardashian and her children have been residing in a rental property for the last several months.
Despite officers' report, Kardashian's reps told TMZ that the suspect never gained access to the home and the TV star does not have any of her belongings inside the property.
Kardashian purchased the property for $20 million in 2014 while she was still married to rapper Kanye West, 49, whom she divorced in 2022. However, in 2018, family matriarch Kris Jenner insisted that the property was worth $60 million while responding to a post about the dwelling on X.
Throughout Kardashian and West's marriage, the dwelling served as the couple's primary residence. However, Kardashian reportedly paid $23 million to retain the dwelling after their split and continued to live there with their four children.
Then, in November 2024, images of the property emerged that showed it was undergoing some major construction. Then, in April 202, new photos obtained exclusively by Realtor.com® revealed the true extent of that work.

(Instagram) The images showed that workers are in the process of adding an enormous extension, which appears to serve as a new wing of the already expansive dwelling.
Though the work is very much still underway, the latest photos of the home indicated that the addition will include multiple rooms.
Much of the original structure also appears to have undergone a gut renovation, with new walls and windows being added alongside the new rooms.
While the purpose of the extension is unclear, hints about Kardashian's future plans for the home were revealed in a 2021 lawsuit filed by one of the fashion designer's neighbors, who requested that a judge ban her from adding several underground spaces to the dwelling.
These included an "underground vault, subterranean parking, an attached subterranean 'wellness center' and a detached guardhouse," according to documents reviewed by People magazine.
Kardashian's neighbor had filed an emergency request to halt work on the home, but that request was denied.
For a time, work on the property appeared to have ceased amid Kardashian's ongoing divorce from West. But in July 2024, a source told People that the Skims founder had temporarily moved out of the dwelling with her kids so that a new room could be added.
The latest photos suggest the addition extends far beyond one room, however.

At the time, the couple's very minimalist decor sparked a fierce debate online, with some praising the neutral tones and barely-there aesthetic, while others blasted the "cold" and "unwelcoming" look.
Still, West and Kardashian appeared overjoyed with the final design of their home, which the rapper told AD had started as a McMansion but was transformed into a "futuristic Belgian monastery."
Now, it appears the home is in the process of undergoing yet another dramatic makeover.
In Oct. 2025, Kardashian celebrated her 45th birthday with a very lavish gift to herself—in the form of a $7 million Hidden Hills, CA, dwelling that she is reportedly planning to use as an expansion of her existing $60 million megamansion, which is located just next door.
She closed on the four-bedroom, five-bathroom dwelling just days before her birthday and is now planning to wrap the property into her already impressive estate.
Realtor.com records indicate that the dwelling in question was purchased for $7.1 million on Oct. 15, with the buyer paying well above the original $6.25 million asking price.
When the home was listed in August, it marked the first time that it had ever been put on the market, according to the listing description, while the listing images actually featured glimpses at Kardashian's residence and the extensive renovations that were being done to it.
