In the past, overburdened security professionals at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas started most semesters fielding Digital Millennium Copyright Act notices from companies complaining that students were illegally downloading music and movies.  Because UNLV effectively operates as students’ internet service provider, it’s responsible for identifying these users and notifying them of DMCA violations.
