The content creator, 26, gave followers a look at the bold aesthetic of the New York City apartment she just moved to.
Influencer Halley Kate McGookin has found a new pad in New York City—and with countless bold design features, the apartment’s aesthetic is a far cry from minimalism.
“The rumors are true ... I moved,” the recently married content creator, 26, shared in an Aug. 11 TikTok, in which she playfully dances around a kitchen with a glossy red peninsula and statement-making light fixtures suspended from the ceiling.
“Just wait until you see the whole thing,” she teased in the caption. “I love it.”
Halley provided her followers with a highly anticipated update shortly thereafter, taking a moment to highlight the very details that drew her to the lavish dwelling in the first place.
“I feel like for a while, when ‘Love Story’ was trending, it was like, [Carolyn Bessette Kennedy] this, minimalism that,” the internet personality began, alluding to the 2026 limited series that followed the romance of John F. Kennedy Jr. and the aforementioned fashion publicist.
Halley Kate announced she's moved into a new apartment in New York City, which she chose for its bold design features. (Halley Kate, TikTok) “I would just like to say, I never fell for that propaganda,” Halley continued. “One thing about me? I’m a little bit tacky. And I’m OK with that. I love a little gaudy something.”
As she toured the space, she explained that she was drawn to it from the first moment she walked in. She said she loved how the red kitchen matched the signature pool table she already owned—which was previously the center of discussion when she shared a 2025 video explaining that she was thrilled with her decision to replace her dining table with the recreational piece of furniture.
Halley continued ticking through the list of her favorite features of the new abode.
“This chandelier?” she gushed, drawing attention to an oversized crystal fixture just out of frame. “Oh, my god, I was taken aback.”
The home includes some funky functional choices, as well. Namely, a pair of flashy stovetop vents that channel the vibe of the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball.

The apartment is full of character, such as crystal globe stovetop vents and ample pantry storage. Give me this crazy red kitchen.”
In a separate day-in-the-life-style video diary, Halley provided a look at a typical morning in the new apartment. Though it’s still mostly unfurnished—she notes she’s been sleeping in the guest bedroom as the primary bed is still without a mattress—the vision is starting to take form.
While Halley is sure to keep her followers abreast on the decorating decisions she’ll make, the apartment is already home to plenty of black-and-white checkered pieces from MacKenzie-Childs. Graphic prints featuring various cocktails grace the walls.
Halley rummaged through some dresser drawers tucked away in one of the apartment’s built-in closets, quickly flashing an impressive collection of purses and accessories. A brief clip reveals that the home is at least two floors, with the 26-year-old heading downstairs to grab a few necessities from the kitchen.
“There is no food in my fridge,” she said, revealing that, although there’s still some grocery shopping to be done, skincare essentials and a selection of beverages have already been stocked.
The kitchen also includes a spacious pantry, with pull-out shelving ideal for convenient organization.
The influencer purchased her first Hamptons home in 2024, announcing she'd bought another house in Sag Harbor the following year. (Getty Images for Rare Impact Fund) It’s not the first time Halley, who boasts 1.7 million TikTok followers, has shared an exciting update about her living arrangements with her audience. In 2024, at age 23, she announced that she had purchased a home in the Hamptons in addition to the apartment that served as her primary residence.
At the time, Halley explained that the decision appeared to be a better financial solution than the expenses she had previously racked up to enjoy the popular vacation destination.
“Why am I paying a mortgage in hotels, renting a car, paying for my dog sitter just for one weekend?” she mused.
After buying her first Hamptons home in 2024, she made another purchase in 2025. She announced the news with a TikTok documenting the process, as well as an Instagram post featuring a photo posed in front of a shingle-style home in Sag Harbor.
“I’m done buying houses, I swear,” she wrote in the caption of the photos. “So excited for this home.”
