The television personalities believe a relocation to a "calmer" locale could be beneficial for their 14-year-old son.
Bill and Giuliana Rancic may soon be the latest celebrities to pack up and move to Nashville.
During a recent chat with “One Tree Hill” alum, Jana Kramer—who relocated to Music City with her family in 2019—the couple revealed that they’re thinking about leaving Chicago.
“Bill and I, we’ve moved a lot through the years,” the entrepreneur explained on the Oct. 27 episode of ‘Bill and Giuliana: The Podcast.’ “We have looked at all different cities and Nashville has always been on our list of cities that we’ve always been really interested in possibly moving to.”
Explaining that they’re “considering moving” after a visit to Tennessee, Giuliana said their 14-year-old son, Duke, is influencing their decision to reconsider their primary address. The Rancics have lived in Chicago—where Bill is originally from—since they left Los Angeles in 2015.
“There will be a point where your kids have a really big personality, a mind of their own. And they will tell you what they like, they will tell you what they don’t like,” the TV personality said, calling her son “perceptive” and “intuitive.”

He’s more mature, the way he talks to us and communicates with us,” Giuliana continued. “One of the things we’re hearing is, he’ll say things like, ‘the city’s chaotic.’”
The concerned mom dug into Duke’s remarks, noting that she and Bill have been unpacking the “underlying messaging” behind their son calling their current city “stressful,” and are starting to believe that “living somewhere calmer might be better for him.”
“We obviously want to do whatever is best for our son,” said Giuliana.
Jana has previously been vocal about her decision to leave Los Angeles in pursuit of a more affordable home with a larger outdoor space for her children to enjoy. She reassured the Rancics that the move has been great for her family, confirming that her kids “love it.”
“What we can afford here and have here, I couldn’t afford in some of those bigger cities,” she said. “Being able to be out on the farms and doing all of those things, for me personally, it just feels cozy.”
The actress and singer raved about life in Tennessee, saying that Nashville is a “big enough city” that’s “growing so much” and has “good restaurants” and “good people.”
“The traffic is out of hand, but they’ll figure it out,” she joked.

However, Giuliana is “worried about alligators,” and they feel that it would be fine to be close to “any body of water.” While they’re slightly concerned about the heat in the summer, Giuliana said that they previously lived in Austin, TX, which can be hot, too.
Jana is just one of many stars to become a Tennessee resident after bidding farewell to life in a bigger city.
Actor Dennis Quaid left his longtime Los Angeles abode in June of this year, taking up full time residence in the Nashville home he purchased with his wife, Lara Savoie, in 2020. He cited frustrations with L.A. taxes, and left the West Coast for good after the 2025 California wildfires.
Singer and actress Rumer Willis packed up for a new chapter in August 2026, saying that she had taken “a leap of faith” to “set down in Nashville” after previously splitting her time between Idaho and Los Angeles.
“Laguna Beach” alum Kristin Cavallari has proudly lived in the state for years, having left the Windy City with her now-ex-husband, former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, in 2017.
“There’s not really a whole lot to not like about Nashville,” she told People magazine ahead of her move.
"Hunting Wives" star Chrissy Metz, musician Jessica Simpson, "Selling Sunset" alum Nicole Young, and former "Today" host Kathie Lee Gifford are also among celebrities who are enjoying a slower pace of life in Nashville.
